EXPANSIA, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business headquartered in Nashua, New Hampshire, announced today that it has won the U.S. Air Force Mentor-Protégé Award with its mentor, CACI Inc.
In October 2020, EXPANSIA officially became the corporate protégé of CACI under the Air Force’s Mentor-Protégé Program. The prestigious award will allow CACI, a company which provides expertise and technology to mission and enterprise customers, to mentor EXPANSIA. Under the program, EXPANSIA will mature its business infrastructure and technical capabilities to better serve the Air Force.
The Air Force is reforming its systems and programs to make its acquisition, development, and sustainment activities more responsive and agile. For more than five years, EXPANSIA has assisted this agile transformation by providing technical and managerial expertise to improve the management and capabilities of defense systems such as the Air Force’s Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) and Enterprise Space Battle Management Command and Control (ESBMC2). Through the Mentor-Protégé Program, EXPANSIA and CACI will further enhance Air Force weapons systems to ensure they respond to warfighter needs, maintain transparent business practices, and remain agile in their modernization initiatives.
CACI has participated in the Department of Defense (DoD) Mentor-Protégé Program since 1998 and has successfully graduated nine protégés for various military sponsors. In addition to EXPANSIA’s work with the Air Force, CACI currently has one protégé for the U.S. Navy. In 2019, the DoD honored CACI with two Nunn-Perry Awards for excellence in the DoD Mentor-Protégé Program, in recognition of CACI’s collaboration with two different small business protégés. CACI aims to match EXPANSIA’s offerings with DoD subcontracting opportunities, so that CACI can provide the best expertise and technology to the department and EXPANSIA can gain the experience and performance necessary to become a prime contractor for DoD.
“We are humbled to be selected as partner and protege to CACI and their DoD Nunn-Perry Award winning, best-in-class mentor-protégé team,” said EXPANSIA CEO and Founding Partner AJ Jarnagin. “We’re confident this close relationship will enable our EXPANSIA team to continue innovating with our government clients and prime contractor allies to deploy technology faster to users around the world.”
“CACI is excited to work with EXPANSIA to further develop its offerings,” Vice President of CACI’s Small Business Advocacy Office Nancy Peters said. “Partnerships between innovative companies like CACI and emerging ones like EXPANSIA are critical to ensuring a strong defense industrial base.”
